Ancora Lawyers was established in 2020 amidst the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic and it has emerged as a steadfast law firm in Brisbane, Australia.
Since our inception, we have proudly provided comprehensive legal advice and representation to numerous clients in Queensland, across Australia, and around the globe.
Through dedication and client-focused approach, Ancora Lawyers has experienced rapid growth and recognition within the legal community.
In 2023, we reached a significant milestone as Ancora Lawyers merged with Chris Toogood Legal, further expanding our capabilities and strengthening our commitment to serving our clients with excellence.
As Ancora Lawyers has grown, our story has become intrinsically linked with the creative industries. A cornerstone of our practice is our genuine commitment to the Film, Television, and broader Entertainment sector. We didn't just add this expertise; it grew out of a deep-seated passion for helping storytellers succeed.

Giuseppe Cassin | Principal Lawyer

Giuseppe is an intellectual property and entertainment lawyer admitted to practice law in Australia and New Zealand. Known for his outstanding track record of success in negotiation, litigation, extracting clients from disputes on favourable terms and protecting their intellectual property rights in contested matters. Strategic, decisive and timely advice and advocacy are the hallmarks of his approach.
Giuseppe is also a leading entertainment lawyer, having acted for a number of notable national and international artists and worked alongside producers on a number of film projects in Australia and overseas. His down-to-earth and fun-loving nature, coupled with his experience in the industry allows Giuseppe to build rapport with his clients while identifying and implementing creative legal solutions to the problems they face. He is a lawyer that leading local talent and entertainment companies turn to for intelligent and strategic representation and advice to navigate their most complex issues. Recently, Giuseppe was an Executive Producer for the following Feature Films: Pixinguinha, An Affectionate Man (2021), Godless: The Eastfield Exorcism (2023), The Aegean (2024), Badland Rising (2026) and Maserati: The Brothers (2026) starring Jessica Alba, Andy Garcia, Al Pacino and two time Academy Award Winner Anthony Hopkins.

Chris Toogood | Consultant
LLB
Chris Toogood was admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland and the High Court of Australia in 1972. Chris has practised as a Legal Practitioner since his admission and, since 1974, mostly as a principal.
Chris has extensive local and overseas experience and now practises primarily in the areas of Migration, Litigation, Wills and Estates, Commercial Conveyancing, Leases and Commercial Structures (Companies and Trusts).

Kyle Macmillan | Consultant

Kyle is an experienced lawyer with experience handling complex litigation and insolvency disputes. He has held senior roles with a number of boutique law firm’s in Brisbane as well as assisted in establishing the Queensland Insolvency arm for one of Australia’s largest law firms.
Named as a finalist in the Lawyers Weekly top 30 under 30 Lawyers for Insolvency in 2020 for his commitment to assist small businesses experiencing financial hardship during the COVID-19 pandemic. Kyle has time and time again proven to be the ‘go-to-guy’ for anyone looking to build a successful business, resolve complex disputes or to help navigate the prospect of bankruptcy or corporate liquidation.

Robert B. Propsting | Special Counsel

Robert Propsting was admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland in 1998 and the High Court of Australia in 2005. While Robert has over 15 years’ practical experience as both a plaintiff and defendant Personal Injury Lawyer, he now practices exclusively as a plaintiff Personal Injury Lawyer.
Having also been a Judge’s Associate to the Honourable Justice H.G. Fryberg of the Supreme Court of Queensland and a former Barrister of the Supreme Court of Queensland, Robert also provides significant litigation and practical courtroom experience to add to his 22 years as a Legal Practitioner.

Allisa Tsukimori | Lawyer

Allisa Tsukimori is an entertainment lawyer and film/television producer based in Los Angeles. She was recognised in the Second Edition of Best Lawyers 2023: Ones to Watch for her work in employment law.
In her entertainment practice, Allisa advises filmmakers, production companies, and creative professionals on a wide range of matters including talent and crew agreements, production legal, chain of title, rights acquisition, fair-work compliance, and navigating the increasingly complex intersection of labour law and screen-industry practice. Her blend of sharp analytical skill and commercially grounded judgment allows her to craft pragmatic, forward-thinking legal solutions that protect creative vision while minimising risk.
As a producer, Allisa has led projects across narrative and digital formats, including the feature film The Aegean and the comedy series Planted. After a distinguished career as a highly competent nurse, Denise retired.
